چکیده

The Pyricularia genus includes several pathogenic fungi species that are associated with blast disease in more than 50 Poaceae plants (Ou 1985). Among these species, Pyricularia oryzae is the most important pathogen, due to its global distribution on plants from the Poaceae family. The blast disease caused by P. oryzae is responsible for severe losses in crops of high economic importance such as rice (Oryza sativa), oat (Avena sativa), signal grass (Urochloa spp.), rye (Secale cereal), barley (Hordeum vulgare), maize (Zea mays) and wheat (Triticum aestivum) (Bailey & Eijnatten 1961, Igarashi et al. 1986, Urashima et al. 1993, Anjos et ABSTRACT RESUMO

Pyricularia graminis-tritici, a new Pyricularia species causing wheat blast

Pyricularia oryzae is a species complex that causes blast disease on more than 50 species of poaceous plants. Pyricularia oryzae has a worldwide distribution as a rice pathogen and in the last 30 years emerged as an important wheat pathogen in southern Brazil. We conducted phylogenetic analyses using 10 housekeeping loci for 128 isolates of P. oryzae sampled from sympatric populations of wheat,...

Comparative analyses of genomic locations and race specificities of loci for quantitative resistance to Pyricularia grisea in rice and barley.

Comparative genomic analyses have revealed extensive colinearity in gene orders in distantly related taxa in mammals and grasses, which opened new horizons for evolutionary study. The objective of our study was to assess syntenic relationships of quantitative trait loci (QTL) for disease resistance in cereals by using a model system in which rice and barley were used as the hosts and the blast ...

Evaluation of six candidate DNA barcode loci for identification of five important invasive grasses in eastern Australia

Invasive grass weeds reduce farm productivity, threaten biodiversity, and increase weed control costs. Identification of invasive grasses from native grasses has generally relied on the morphological examination of grass floral material. DNA barcoding may provide an alternative means to identify co-occurring native and invasive grasses, particularly during early growth stages when floral charac...

Native roadside perennial grasses persist a decade after planting in the Sacramento Valley

negatively affected by disturbance. meadow barley (Hordeum brachyantherum Nevski) (Hickman 1993). Purple needlegrass, blue wildrye, bluegrass and California melic are droughttolerant species that typically occupy well-drained upland sites. In contrast, creeping wildrye and meadow barley are less drought-tolerant and typically grow in the moist soils of seeps, streams and wetland margins (Walker...

An Examination of the Ecological Effects of Pure and Mixed planting on the Production Grasses and the Living Place of Weeds Under the Dry Farming Condition

In order to examine the impact of pure and mixed planting on the production of grasses and also the biological control of weeds an experiment was conducted in the research farm of Alashtar city of Lorestan province between the years 1391 and 1392. This experiment within the design of complete random blocks (RCBD) with 6 protections which included 100:0 (rouph pea pure planting) 0:100 (pure plan...
